APEX Project ID

The APEX project ID is a unique string which unambiguously indentifies your project (and all files associated with it) in the APEX system.

This APEX project ID is NOT identical to the proposal number, which may also be referred to as project ID. The proposal number distinguishes between the APEX partners based on the (4-digit) project number, while the APEX project ID additionally uses a letter for that purpose, and also contains the current year. It is created from the proposal numer that you enter during the phase 2 project registration (i.e. the step before the actual phase 2 submission).

The APEX project ID is always of the form

where

• I : a letter for the APEX partner institute (M, E, O, or C)
• T : the proposal type, e.g. 0 for normal science proposals, or 4 for calibration proposals.
• [P]PP : 3 digits (from period 100 on) or 2 digits (until period 99) indicating the observing period
• C : science category (for ESO), or simply "F" (for the other APEX partners)
• NNNN : the 4-digit project number
• R : the run letter (which is used by ESO, Sweden, and Chile. For MPI it is usually "A")
• YYYY : the year

Password

This is the password you have chosen during the registration of your project. If you have lost or forgotten it, we can not recover it! In that case send us an email, we can delete your registration, and you would have to register your project again. Don't worry: previously saved or submitted information associated to your project will not be lost - this registration only manages the access to the phase 2 system.
