Seasonal greetings from APEX!

The Earth is completing yet another turn around the Sun, leading us toward 2022. This has been a year full of challenges in many ways. Overall, it has been a successful year for the observatory and we want to celebrate it with you all APEX users and followers.

We share here an amazing snapshot captured earlier this year by our Station Manager, Carlos A. Durán, at the Chajnantor plateau. We wish everybody happy holidays and an excellent start of 2022.

Secondly, we show here the cover of Nature Astronomy from June 2021, selected in twitter as the best cover of the magazine of the year. It features a beautiful picture of the Centaurus A galaxy containing data collected at APEX with LABOCA (Weiss et al. 2008) as well as with SOFIA (Lopez-Rodriguez, E., 2021).
